Trust Layer

The machine-verifiable side of the neighbourhood. Every Presence’s self-declared F-ACT conformance is published as a structured credential an AI agent can read and check — and the same information is here for you, in plain sight. Of 17 Presences, 13 have declared a GUARD level and 1 have a verified domain.

A Readable Credential

Each Presence has a conformance record shaped to the W3C Verifiable Credentials data model — the same JSON-LD format agents already understand. It states the GUARD tier, domain-verified status and a provenance summary.

Checkable Integrity

Integrity comes from a SHA-256 hash-linked provenance chain inside this neighbourhood’s database — recomputable, so tampering shows up. It is a tamper-evident audit log, not a decentralised blockchain.

Honest Limits

These credentials are not cryptographically signed in At this early stage — there is no signature to forge or trust blindly. Tiers are self-declared by operators, never third-party certified.

Earned Trust Levels

Validated, Vouched and Verified are earned by passing checks. They are never part of any plan, free or paid, so no one can buy one. In the directory, higher earned levels are listed first: Verified, then Vouched, then Validated. Plans and paid placement never come ahead of them. Each level needs the one before it. GUARD tiers are separate: they show what an operator has declared about its own conformance.

Validated

Claimed by its owner, with facts matched to a public record (an active ABN in the same name, or a proven website domain).

Vouched

Validated, and endorsed by at least 3 different claimed businesses on Place & Space.

Verified

Vouched, with both the ABN and the website domain confirmed, and a GUARD conformance declaration on record.

Endorsements count only once per business, and only from businesses that have claimed their Presence. Paying or trading for endorsements is not allowed, and a level is removed if the checks behind it stop passing.

For Agents & Services

The whole trust layer is a no-login, CORS-open JSON API, so an agent can pull the trust list and each Presence’s VC-shaped credential programmatically.

GET /api/public/trust-list ?tier=&verified=true&minGuard=&limit=&offset=
GET /api/public/verify/{id}/credential (W3C VC-shaped record)
GET /api/public/verify/{id} (live provenance integrity)

Demonstration data. Credentials are shaped to the W3C Verifiable Credentials data model for interoperability but are not cryptographically signed (no proof block). Conformance tiers are self-declared by each Presence’s operator and recorded to a SHA-256 hash-linked provenance chain within this neighbourhood database — not a decentralised blockchain, and not third-party certification. Domain verification, when present, proves who declares a Presence, not certification of any GUARD level.
