Host A City Conversation

No head office, no time zone problem. You host the conversation in your own city, at a time that suits your neighbours. It grows from the ground up: by word of mouth, and word of mouse.

The Question Every City Starts With

How should our communities prepare for AI moving into our workplaces and shared spaces, including robotics?

Host In The Week

Four Steps, Any City, Any Time Zone

  1. 1

    Download The Kit

Running sheet, house rules, host script and invitation text. Free, no sign-up needed to read it.

  2. 2

Put Your City On The Map

Pick a date, a time in your own time zone and a public place or an online link. You get a page to share.

  3. 3

    Invite Five People

Word of mouth first: friends, neighbours, colleagues. Each person who joins can invite five more.

  4. 4

    Host, Then Report Back

Run the 90 minutes, agree one local action and post it. It appears on your city’s page for the next host to build on.

The 90-Minute Running Sheet

  1. 10 minWelcome And House Rules

First names, where you live, and one sentence on why you came. Read the house rules aloud.

  2. 5 minThe Question

Read the inaugural question: “How should our communities prepare for AI moving into our workplaces and shared spaces, including robotics?”

  3. 15 minSelf: AI And Me

Where is AI already in your work and daily life? What do you want it to do for you, and what should it never do?

  4. 15 minSphere: AI And The People Around Me

Family, workplace, clubs and local businesses. Who is being helped, and who is being left behind?

  5. 15 minSociety: AI And Our Community

Schools, councils, shared spaces and local jobs, including robotics. What should our community decide for itself?

  6. 20 minOne Local Action

Agree one small, real thing the group will do before the next conversation. Write it down in one sentence.

  7. 10 minClose And Invite

Set the next date. Ask everyone to bring one person next time and to share the city page.

House Rules

  • AI suggests; people decide.
  • Difference of opinion is welcome. Disagree with ideas, never attack people.
  • One voice at a time. Everyone who wants to speak gets a turn.
  • No selling, no recruiting, no politics of party.
  • What people share about themselves stays in the room. Nothing is recorded without everyone’s agreement.
  • Trade Dollars ($T), $H and $E are a future vision: not issued, and no offer is being made.

What To Say First

“Welcome. Thanks for coming. This is a City Conversation, part of Society OS, an AI Service Organization.”

“The idea is the same as Rotary and Lions Club, rebuilt for the Agentic Era: local people meet, learn and serve, so AI is shaped by communities rather than decided for them.”

“I’m not an expert and I’m not selling anything. I’m just hosting. Tonight we look at AI through three lenses: Self, Sphere and Society, and we finish by agreeing one local action.”

“Before we start, here are our house rules…”

Keeping Everyone Safe

  • Meet in a public place. Never publish a home address.
  • Under-18s attend only with a parent or carer, or under the venue’s own supervision rules.
  • If someone becomes distressed, pause, check in privately and share Lifeline (13 11 14 in Australia) or your local equivalent. In an emergency call 000 (or your local number).
  • For online sessions, share the link only with people who joined, and remove anyone who disrupts.

Coming Up Around The World

No conversations are on the map yet. Yours could be the first. Host one.

Founding Hosts Wanted

The first person to host in each city is its Founding Host. We are starting with the Gold Coast, then these cities. Know someone? Invite them personally below.

The first person to host in a city is its Founding Host. It is a thank-you, not a rank: it never affects trust levels or ranking, and nothing is sold.

Invite Someone To Host

The best hosts are asked by someone they know. Pick one person, add their name and city, and send it from your own phone or email. We never send these for you.

A Short Message

Hi there, I thought of you for this. Society OS is launching through free City Conversations: local people talking about how we get AI right, together. Would you host one in your city? It’s 90 minutes, the kit does the work, and you can do it online or in a library. https://spaceplace.abacusai.app/host

A Longer Note

Hi there, I’m helping launch Society OS, an AI Service Organization, the same idea as Rotary and Lions Club rebuilt for the Agentic Era. Instead of one big launch event, people host a free City Conversation in their own city and time zone. You’d be great at it. There’s a free kit with a running sheet, house rules and a script, and the first host in your city is recognised as its Founding Host. No selling, no cost, and no obligation to do it again. Have a look: https://spaceplace.abacusai.app/host Happy to talk it through.

Send these one at a time to people you know. Please don’t bulk-send or message strangers: City Conversations grow by word of mouth.

Put Your City On The Map

Register your conversation and you get a public page to share, plus a private host link (on screen and by email) to manage it and report back. We email one reminder the day before and a short “how did it go?” afterwards. Free on every plan, now and always.

Only the number of people coming is shown, never their names. Your name is shown only if you tick the box.

In person means a public place. Online links are shown only to people who RSVP.

Hosting never affects ranking or trust levels, and nothing is sold.

Hosts compare notes in the Founders Space: a written thread any time, and a room to swap what worked.

Your conversation shows on that Country, City and suburb page, and on the suburb’s Circle.

Where

Society OS Pty Ltd uses your name and email only to manage your conversation and keep in touch. Your email is never shown or shared. Free, always.
